The working theory that is being practiced by the PCB designers and the engineers has been discussed as well as ways have been suggested to improvise the communication between the two groups for proper functioning. The bureau that offers services related to the designing techniques work according to the design techniques suggested by the customers, and the customers are offered everything that is not a part of the core competency. For some group of customers only the layout portion of the design is being offered while for the other group of customers the schematics, the libraries as well as the design of the layout is being created and the circuit boards are assembled as well as fabricated. In this area no customers have the similar kind of demand and each customer is treated with equal importance. When working with the customers who are just at the beginning stage the actual link between the idea and the concept is being provided, realisation of the product is made, knowledge of the designing process the capabilities of the fabricators, the trade offs of the requirements that are inevitable as well as the experiences are shared with the customers so as to offer the customer a proper idea their requirement and the product that they will get.
Survey shows that there is always a conflict between the PCB board designers and the engineers. According to the designers the biggest challenge are the electrical engineers. From the PCB side point of view the main problem is in the understanding of the working function of a PCB designer. It is often felt that the job of a PCB designer is not very difficult. The main problem lies in the fact that in many situations the working of the PCB designer team and the input that can be obtained from them can easily obtained from the electrical engineers. It is also felt that the qualification of the PCB designers is also quite low in comparison to the engineers. So the main perception is that when a PCB designer offers any suggestion to an engineer he is seen with a very low profile and this causes a lot of conflict between the two.
From the engineers point of view they provide consultancy service regarding the designing techniques and they also offers solutions to many problems that are related to the overall development of the product. According to the engineers the designing part is very easy in comparison to the functionality, the total cost incurred, sourcing of component, test plans, obsolescence, as well as reading of the documentation. A PCB designer is not familiar to the newer technologies so they ask the engineers a lot of questions and expect immediate answers and solutions from the engineers.
